Inconsistency, or how I learned to stop worrying and be a lazy bastard…

It’s been a while since my last post, and a lot has happened in the interim, not least of which is we have a nice, hot war brewing in Ukraine, and our economy is headed toward the swirling toilet bowl of progressive mismanagement.

That all being said, there is plenty we can do to weather the approaching storm. Ammo prices, amazingly enough, are still slowly trending downward, and guns are still quite abundant for what I would call decent, but not exactly great, prices. Magazines, parts and accessories are widely available, and the variety is endless. Get ’em while you can, folks!

Y’all might remember the bad old days of 2009-2010, where you couldn’t buy mags, ammo or guns ANYWHERE, and what little was left on the market was neckbearded to absurd prices that only the very rich or very stupid would pay.

We’re not there yet, and hopefully, we won’t reach that point anytime soon, because I have several cans left to fill with M193 and M855!

In other news, Okay Industries, the maker of the excellent Surefeed and Surefeed E2 AR15 magazines, has decided to get out of the magazine business altogether, and concentrate on “lifesaving technology” in their medical devices lineup instead. That’s really bad news to me because they made some of the best standard AR mags around, and they were up there with Adventure Line and others, at the very beginning, when the AR was a new platform.

I’m sad to see them go, but other manufacturers have stepped up to the plate, and there’s all kinds of great AR mags available out there from D&H, Brownell’s and others for good prices, so stack em deep! You can never have too many books, too many mags or too much ammo.

Another thing you can do if you haven’t already is, GET IN SHAPE. If we are looking at hard times ahead, as many seem to think, those times will be exponentially worse if you’re fat, weak and unable to function. Fitness is more than just exercise, it’s a mindset and a lifestyle that you have to stay with every day. It may not be as cool as setting up all that gucci gear and high end weapons, but without physical fitness, all the gear in the world is just a loot drop for anyone who can move faster, harder and longer than you can.

I’m gonna jump off my soapbox now, because I have more ammo and mags to order, but let me leave y’all with one last bit of acquired wisdom: read more books. Doesn’t matter what it is, what subject matter or genre, just read a little bit every day. It broadens your mind, exercises your brain and gives you a look into a wider, more complex world of people and ideas without the shrill nonsense of the Internet taking anything away from it.

Shoot straight, shoot often and shoot safely!
